Nestled in the vibrant heart of Delhi, where ancient traditions gracefully intertwine with modern marvels, stands the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC), affectionately named Yashobhoomi. This architectural wonder, sprawling across one million square meters, required a state-of-the-art audio-visual system to support its vast, multifunctional spaces. From a colossal 6000-seater auditorium to an expansive grand ballroom and versatile exhibition centers, the facility was designed to host prestigious events, including its inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17, 2023. Alphatec Audio Video Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with Pyramid Technologies, Larsen and Toubro, AV Consultant, PMC and Architect, was entrusted to deliver a seamless integration of advanced AV technologies.
The
challenge
Integrating high-performance AV systems within Yashobhoomi's architecturally complex and acoustically varied environments was a significant challenge. The expansive spaces, modular seating arrangements, high ceilings, and diverse room configurations required precise and flexible audio solutions. Achieving uniform sound pressure levels, high Speech Transmission Index (STI) values, and seamless integration across different zones were critical for the project's success. Additionally, the systems needed to be user-friendly and reliable, ensuring smooth operation during high-profile events. Guided by our expert system integrators, we devised a comprehensive AV solution tailored to Yashobhoomi's unique needs. The meticulous planning and integration of cutting-edge audio technologies transformed the facility into a global landmark.

In the auditorium, the combination of Tannoy VQ, VX, and VSX series speakers, Lab Gruppen D series amplifiers, Midas HD96 digital mixers, Turbosound NuQ-Active portable speakers, and Audio Technica 3000 Series Digital wireless microphones, delivered uniform sound pressure levels exceeding 110dB SPL and high STI values, ensuring exceptional audio clarity for large audiences.
The
SOLUTION
The grand ballroom's divisible spaces were equipped with Tannoy QFLEX digital steerable technology to address acoustic challenges, providing versatile and high-quality audio for any event configuration. Smaller convention halls and meeting rooms were optimized with Tannoy QFlex speakers and VSX subwoofers, ensuring precise audio delivery and high intelligibility. In the exhibition halls, strategically positioned Tannoy Dual Concentric CMS 1201DC ceiling speakers provided optimal coverage, while the pre-function area's towering height and glass surroundings were effectively managed with Tannoy QFlex 48 and QFlex 32 speakers. The project showcased Alphatec’s technical proficiency, reliability, and swift assistance.
